Michael J. Bernstein
Researcher · Convener · Team Leader
Hi. I build and lead research teams to advance science and technology for social and environmental benefit.
My work requires me to regularly cross disciplines and sectors to help people forge common ground on topics ranging from democratic governance to nuclear waste management to ethics of AI.
I serve as a Senior Scientist and Team Leader of the Societal Futures group at the Austrian Institute of Technology's Center for Innovation Systems and Policy. I also hold a partial position with the UiT, The Arctic University of Norway, where I teach and mentor in a professional master's program for ocean sustainability and leadership.
